Care Guide

Care & Material Guide

Made to be loved, then handed down.

Looking after your pieces keeps them soft, bright and true to fit for longer, so they can move from your wardrobe to your little one's, and from one sibling to the next. Caring well is also one of the simplest ways to reduce a garment's footprint. Before you replace something, try to refresh, repair and rewear it.

Our approach

Wash less, wash gently.

Every wash wears a fabric a little, so only wash when a piece really needs it. Spot clean small marks, air garments between wears and use a steamer to freshen them up. When it is time to wash, always wash cool at 30°C or below, use a mild liquid detergent, skip fabric softener, never soak or bleach, and dry in the shade. The care label sewn into each piece is always your first guide.

Our fabrics

Cotton100% cotton

What it is

A natural fibre that grows as a soft, fluffy boll around the seeds of the cotton plant. It is breathable, gentle on skin and gets softer with every wash.

Where it comes from

Cotton is grown in warm climates around the world. Once picked, the fibres are cleaned, spun into yarn and knitted into the smooth jersey we use for our tees.

Where we use it

Our Love & Leisure Oversized Tees are made using 100% cotton, in adult and kids sizes.

How to care

  • Machine wash cool, 30°C or below, on a gentle cycle.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not soak or bleach.
  • Turn inside out and wash with similar colours.
  • Line dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, as heat can shrink cotton.
  • Warm iron on the reverse. Never iron over puff print logos.
Cotton Blend Fleece50% cotton, 50% polyester

What it is

A soft fleece that pairs cotton's breathability with polyester's strength. The inside is brushed for a cloud-like feel, while the polyester helps it keep its shape and colour.

Where it comes from

Cotton and polyester yarns are knitted together, then the reverse side is brushed to raise the soft fleece pile.

Where we use it

Our Cosy Club 2.0 hoodies, sweatpants and kids lounge sets, and our Love & Leisure hoodies, lounge shorts and kids sets.

How to care

  • Machine wash cool, 30°C or below, on a gentle cycle.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not soak or bleach.
  • Turn inside out, do up zips and wash with similar fleece, not towels, to reduce pilling.
  • Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid enzyme or "bio" detergents and stain sprays, especially on printed fleece like Floral Fantasy, as they can cause colour to run.
  • Line dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, as it flattens the brushed finish.
  • No ironing needed. Never iron over puff print or teddy bouclé logos.
Cotton Knit100% cotton

What it is

Soft cotton yarn knitted into a stretchy, thick fabric that holds its shape beautifully. Many of our knits are custom dyed to match our prints.

Where it comes from

Cotton fibres are spun into yarn, dyed, then knitted into a fabric with natural give, so it sits comfortably on little heads and feet.

How to care

  • Spot clean where you can. If a full wash is needed, hand wash cool, 30°C or below, with a gentle wash.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not soak or bleach.
  • Remove bow clips before washing. Wash booties and bonnets in a mesh bag.
  • Press out water in a towel, reshape and dry flat in the shade.
  • Re-tie bows once dry if needed, and keep all knits away from velcro.
Cotton Spandex95% cotton, 5% spandex

What it is

Breathable cotton with a touch of spandex for stretch and recovery, so pieces move with you and spring back into shape.

Where it comes from

Cotton yarn is knitted together with a fine spandex fibre, giving the softness of cotton with added flexibility.

Where we use it

Our Oversized Tee Rompers in Paradiso, Coastline and Euro Summer, and everything in Summer Club, including the Summer Club tees, bike shorts and kids sets.

How to care

  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not soak or bleach.
  • Turn inside out and do up romper snaps before washing.
  • Line dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, as heat weakens spandex and can crack puff prints.
  • Warm iron on the reverse if needed, never over prints.
Linen CottonLinen and cotton blend

What it is

A blend of linen's natural texture with the softness of cotton, woven into a slightly heavier fabric. It is breathable and durable, with a soft structure that holds its shape wear after wear.

Linen TENCEL®Linen and TENCEL® Lyocell blend

What it is

Linen blended with TENCEL® Lyocell for a fabric that is breathable and textured, with a silky smooth hand and natural moisture-wicking.

Do
